Jose Barzola

Meet Jose Barzola, Chartwells Dining Director at The Dubois Center.
Describe your role at The Dubois Center.
I coordinate and supervise catering events, oversee The Market, build strong relationships with clients, and perform administrative and financial tasks for Chartwells.
What’s your career background?
I have over twenty years of working in the food industry.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
My goal is to ensure that the clients’ expectations of events at The Dubois Center are met and exceeded.
Tell us your favorite memory from working at The Dubois Center.
A few months ago I was supervising an event, and a gentleman approached me with a question about the coffee. I was surprised and delighted when I realized that the gentleman was Mr. Dubois from the portrait in the lobby.
Tell us something surprising that people might not know about you.
I play the Spanish Cajon, which is a percussion music instrument very popular in my country, Peru.
What do you do for fun outside of work?
I like to work on my cars, work in the yard, and spend time with my wife and kids.
What/who inspires you?
Kind people and good manners inspire me. Good food, especially Peruvian food like ceviche and cilantro rice with chicken, inspire me to create my own recipes.
