Plan Your Visit

The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City is located in the first ward, directly to the east of the intersection of Trade and Tryon. It is that quadrant bounded by North Tryon on the northwest and East Trade on the southwest. Explore the area and nearby activities.

Faculty, Staff & Students

Parking, available by University permit and the Park Mobile app, is available at 422 E. 9th Street (gravel lot) at the corner of 9th and Brevard. Handicapped parking is available at 625 N. Brevard and requires a University permit with Dubois Center parking privileges and the appropriate placard. Visitor Parking for Events

Visitor parking for events is not available through the University. Several pay-to-park options are within walking distance, with the closest being 422 E. 9th Street (gravel lot, see photo). For parking, download the Park Mobile app and select zone #96422.

Event organizers may arrange parking with outside services like Preferred Parking. Follow the event organizer’s instructions for such arrangements.

Light Rail

The LYNX Blue Line Extension connects UNC Charlotte with neighborhoods and business districts as far south as Pineville. The Ninth Street Station is the closest stop to The Dubois Center.

Students

UNC Charlotte students have the CATS All-Access Pass, providing unlimited rides on CATS buses, streetcars, airport sprinter, and LYNX light rail. Download the CATS-Pass app to access your pass in the “Wallet” section.

Visitors

Visitors are encouraged to use the light rail when visiting The Dubois Center. The building is half a block from the 9th Street Station. Free parking is available at nine of the eleven light rail Park and Ride locations, with Sugar Creek Station and Scaleybark Park being the closest to 9th Street Station. Purchase light rail tickets from vending machines on station platforms or via the CATS-Pass app.

First Ward Park

First Ward Park is the culmination of a joint partnership between Levine Properties, UNC Charlotte, Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte. The new 4-acre park is located between East 7th, 9th and Brevard Streets, just east of the light rail tracks.

Other attractions surrounding The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City include: ImaginOn, a children’s Learning Center, Levine Museum of the New South, and Spectrum Center, home of the professional NBA team, the Charlotte Hornets.
