Is The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City open to the public?

For the safety and security of faculty, staff, students and visitors to The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City, it is restricted to current faculty, staff, students and visitors.

Visitors must have a legitimate business reason for visiting The Dubois Center, such as a meeting, event, conference, etc.

We welcome the public as patrons of the Market at Dubois. Restrooms are reserved for current faculty, staff, students, visitors and patrons of the Market at Dubois.

Please have your University issued ID available or a valid state-issued ID available when you arrive.

Do you have a public library and computers?

The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City does not have a public library or computers. Computers are reserved for current students only as well as those who have formally rented and reserved space.

I’m hungry. What is there to eat at The Dubois Center?

The Market at Dubois is in our lobby on the first floor of the building. There are vending machines located on the 5th and 6th floors.

I’m interested in holding an event at The Dubois Center. What is the first step?

First, an event request form must be submitted.  Once received, the events staff will process the event and get back to you to let you know the status of your request.

Student ID, NinerNet & More

Do I need a student ID?

Yes, you do need a current student ID to access the building. It is required that you always have your student ID visible while in the building

In addition,  student identification cards are used to assist students in obtaining access to services in the building and entrance into the library and computer lab. The student ID card is FREE.  Students will have one ID card to use throughout their enrollment at UNC Charlotte.  ID cards are valid if you are a registered student at UNC Charlotte.

How do I get a student ID?

We strongly encourage all students attending classes at the Dubois Center to utilize the 49er Mobile ID Program. The Mobile ID serves as your primary identification and grants you access to the Dubois Center uptown campus, as well as a variety of university resources.

All new students will automatically be enrolled in the 49er Mobile ID program. If you already have a physical 49er ID, please be aware that setting up your Mobile ID on a new device will deactivate your physical ID, and you will need to use the Mobile ID moving forward.

If you have any questions, or if you are unable to use a compatible smartphone, please contact the 49er Card Office for assistance.

Can I reserve a study area?

Due to the limited amount of space available at The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City, we do not reserve rooms for students to study. 

Students should go to main campus for study space and resources.

Where can I buy/rent my textbooks?

You can buy or rent textbooks through Barnes & Noble Bookstore located on main campus.

What courses are offered at The Dubois Center?

There are several Graduate level courses as well as professional development and extended academic programs offered at The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City. You can see a list of departments and programs here.

I’m having a problem logging-in with my NinerNet Account. What do I do?

You need to establish your NinerNet Account as soon as you get admitted. You will need your UNC Charlotte ID found in your acceptance letter to establish your account. If you are having problems logging into your NinerNet Account, please direct your questions to the Information Technology Services help desk at 704-687-5500 or refer to the IT Help website.
